The Journal of Applied Research & Development (JARD) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics, academic integrity, and responsible research conduct. The journal strives to ensure that all published work is original, credible, ethically produced, and contributes meaningfully to scholarly knowledge and evidence-based practice.

JARD expects all parties involved in the publication process — authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers — to adhere strictly to ethical standards and best practices. JARD aligns its ethical framework with internationally recognized guidelines, including those of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Ethical compliance is a fundamental requirement for manuscript consideration and publication in the journal.

Author Responsibilities

Authors submitting manuscripts to JARD are required to ensure that their work is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under consideration by another journal at the time of submission. All sources used in the research must be properly cited, and authors must accurately present data, methods, and findings without fabrication, falsification, or selective reporting.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that research involving human participants, animals, or sensitive data complies with relevant ethical approval requirements. Any conflicts of interest, funding sources, or affiliations that may influence the research must be clearly disclosed at the time of submission.

Plagiarism and Originality

Plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited. This includes direct copying, paraphrasing without attribution, self-plagiarism, and the unauthorized use of ideas, data, or text from other sources. All submitted manuscripts are subjected to plagiarism detection screening prior to the peer-review process.

Manuscripts found to contain unacceptable levels of similarity or unethical reuse of content may be rejected outright, returned for correction, or retracted if already published. JARD maintains zero tolerance for academic dishonesty.

Duplicate Submission and Redundant Publication

Authors must not submit the same manuscript, or substantially similar content, to more than one journal simultaneously. Duplicate submission and redundant publication are considered unethical practices and may result in immediate rejection, notification of affiliated institutions, and potential bans on future submissions.

Data Integrity and Research Misconduct

Authors must ensure the accuracy, transparency, and reproducibility of their data. Fabrication, falsification, manipulation of data, or misrepresentation of results constitutes serious research misconduct and is strictly prohibited.

Where appropriate, authors may be requested to provide raw data or supporting documentation to verify research findings. Failure to do so may result in rejection or retraction.

Peer Review Ethics

Reviewers are expected to conduct reviews objectively, confidentially, and professionally. They must not use unpublished material disclosed in a submitted manuscript for personal research or advantage. Reviewers should declare any conflicts of interest and decline reviews where impartiality cannot be guaranteed.

Editors ensure that the peer-review process is fair, unbiased, and transparent, and that editorial decisions are based solely on academic merit, relevance, and ethical compliance.

Corrections, Retractions, and Expressions of Concern

JARD is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. If errors, ethical breaches, or misconduct are identified after publication, the journal may issue corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern, depending on the severity of the issue.

Such actions are taken in accordance with COPE guidelines and communicated clearly to readers to preserve transparency and trust.

Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions at JARD are made independently and are not influenced by commercial interests, sponsorship, or institutional affiliations. The editorial team ensures that all manuscripts are evaluated fairly and consistently, regardless of the authors' background, nationality, gender, or institutional affiliation.

Ethical Oversight and Policy Updates

JARD reserves the right to update this Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement as needed to reflect evolving ethical standards and best practices in scholarly publishing. Any updates will be publicly communicated through the journal's official platforms.
