Getting Started
Prepare Your Manuscript
Manuscripts must be submitted in PDF or Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format. Ensure your work is original, not under review elsewhere, and approved by all co-authors. Format your manuscript following JARD's style guide (Title, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, References).

JARD welcomes manuscripts in the areas of applied research, administration, governance, and development studies, with a particular focus on Malawi and the broader African context. We accept: Original Research Articles, Review Articles, Case Studies, Short Communications, and Policy Briefs.

Submit your manuscript online through our submission portal. You will receive a confirmation email with a reference number. Our editorial team will acknowledge receipt within 3 business days.

Submitted manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review. Authors typically receive a first decision within 4–6 weeks. Accepted manuscripts are published in the next available issue and made freely available online (open access).

- Format: PDF or Word (.doc/.docx)
- Max file size: 10 MB
- Abstract: max 300 words
- Keywords: 4–8 terms
- References: APA 7th Edition
- Language: English
- Plagiarism: max 15% similarity
- Ethical approval letter (where applicable)
